FOR DISPLAYING THE SACRED VIETNAMESE NATIONAL FLAG
Dear Madame Fiona Ma:
It is with great pride and satisfaction that I write to unanimously and strongly support the noble struggle of the San Francisco City Council to display the sacred Vietnamese Yellow Flag The Flag of Free Nation of Vietnam established in 1948 under the reign of HIM Emperor Bao Dai. As the Prince of the Imperial Nguyen Dynasty, and as Grand Master of the Order of the Dragon of Annam and the leader of the Revolutionary People and Imperial Staff of the Nguyen Dynasty of Vietnam, it is my solemn duty to convey to you, to the Members of the San Francisco City Government, and to the citizens of San Francisco our deepest appreciation for this noble gesture of respect and friendship.
As everybody in Vietnam and around the world acknowledges, the sacred Vietnamese National Flag has been absorbed with the blood of the People of Vietnam through generations in the Glorious History of Vietnam. In June 1948, the Prime-Minister Nguyen Van Xuan of the National Government of the Nation of Vietnam presented the Yellow National Flag and the National Anthem to HIM Emperor Bao Dai for approval. HIM Emperor Bao Dai approved and announced to the People of Vietnam that is the sacred National Flag of an Independent and Unified Nation from the North to the South. The Yellow symbolizes the Imperial Family. The three Red Stripes symbolize three Parts of Vietnam: The North, Central and the South of Vietnam of the same red blood.
This is the National Flag implied the Sacred Spirit of a Nation, the determination of the people, who struggle through generations to protect and maintain the Fatherland and the real values of National Culture, Heritage and Traditions.
The Nation of Vietnam and this National Flag were unanimously recognized and honored by 43 Kingdoms and Free Countries of the world under the reign of HIM Emperor Bao Dai.
We send our heartfelt thanks and best wishes to you, to the Members of the San Francisco City Council, to the citizens of San Francisco and to all for their courageous stand for Freedom and Democracy in Vietnam.
